Designing cutting tools
Adaptability is a quality of Technicarbure. For our teams, this means that they are able to design the tool that will allow the production of the part in question in small or large series. Depending on the project, we provide our customer with a test report certifying that the tool complies with the specifications provided.
In this case, we mobilize our expertise in the study of the drawing of the part to be manufactured. This technical analysis phase allows us to propose to the customer the custom tool necessary for the production of the part in question. This analysis process is guided by information necessary for the design of a tool, such as the nature of the material in which the part will be manufactured.
You provide the tool drawing, we make it! You benefit from Technicarbure's know-how in the production of high precision tools.
We use grinding to manufacture cutting tools or to sharpen existing tools. Depending on the tool, the grinding is either flat or cylindrical, in which case it is internal or external. Tolerance is in the micron range for very precise carbide parts, whose internal diameter can range from 3 to 40 mm depending on the demand.
At Technicarbure, the design of a precise and efficient cutting tool depends on three factors: the choice of carbide, the geometry, and the choice of coating.
We apply a coating on the tools manufactured in our workshops to make them more resistant. The cutting edge is thus reinforced to avoid premature wear of the tool. For each type of machining, we are able to offer a dedicated treatment (there are about thirty), depending on the purpose of the tool and the customer's needs. The application of the coating is part of our quality process. It is carried out in partnership with the European leader in this field. Thanks to the coating, it is possible to increase the hardness of the carbide by 2 to 3 times.
Technicarbure gives a second life to your cutting tools Technicarbure can give a second life to cutting tools by sharpening them. This service includes a preliminary technical assessment to determine whether the tool can be reconditioned based on its degree of wear or possible mechanical fragility.
Technicarbure is a flexible and reactive company. We are able to manufacture a cutting tool in our workshops in 72 hours, or even 48 hours if all the factors are met.
